Boxes that work for a business, not a shop shelf

Corporate and PR boxes are not sold to the public. They are sent: to clients, new starters, journalists, creators and event guests. The person opening one did not buy it, so the box has to explain itself.

That changes the brief. Space for a letter matters as much as the logo, and the box must survive a courier and a busy post room. Dates matter too, because a launch or an event will not move.

Budgets work differently too. Someone outside the marketing team often signs off a corporate order. A clear written quote listing every option saves a round of questions.

Client thank-you gifts are the most common reason teams get in touch. Our corporate gift boxes with a magnetic flap are built for that job.

The three boxes in this range, side by side

The range is small on purpose. Each box covers a different business task, and between them they handle most corporate briefs we receive.

Some briefs fall between two of them, such as a client gift that also launches a product. Describe both jobs and we point you to the better fit.

Gift, launch or welcome: matching the box to the task

A client gift needs to feel generous and be easy to reopen. A magnetic flap does that, and the box often stays on a desk afterwards as storage for pens or cables.

A launch kit is about the reveal. The book-style cover opens from the side, shows a printed message first, then the products in their insert. Our PR boxes with book-style covers are sized around the kit you send.

A welcome pack for a new starter or member is usually smaller and more personal. A hinged card case can hold their first business cards or a key card, often tucked inside a larger gift.

Some teams order all three for one campaign: a PR box for press, gift boxes for key clients and card cases for the sales team. Ordering them together means one wrap and one logo treatment run through the whole campaign.

Sizing corporate boxes around mixed contents

Corporate gifts rarely hold one item. A bottle, a notebook, a pen and a card are a typical mix, and each shape needs its own space.

The sizes below are inside measurements that turn up often on corporate briefs. Use them to get a feel for scale, then measure your own items.

For mixed contents, lay everything out with 10 to 15 mm gaps and measure the outer edges. The tallest item sets the depth, so measure it with any cap or stopper in place.

Branded merchandise is the usual surprise. A mug, bottle or gadget from a promotional supplier often comes in its own carton. If it goes in boxed, measure it boxed.

  • Notebook, pen and card: about 250 x 190 x 50 mm
  • Bottle laid flat with two small gifts: about 340 x 240 x 100 mm
  • A4 welcome pack with documents and a memory stick: about 305 x 220 x 40 mm
  • Launch kit with one hero product in a raised well: about 150 x 150 x 100 mm
  • Stack of 100 standard business cards: about 92 x 62 x 45 mm

Inserts for kits with many parts

The insert keeps a multi-item gift arriving the way you packed it. We cut it to each item, in card, foam or with a satin lining.

Die-cut card suits notebooks, boxed products, pens and memory sticks. Foam suits bottles and glass. A small finger notch beside each cut-out makes items easy to lift out without tipping the box.

Check the insert against the real items, not a list. A notebook from one supplier can be 5 mm thicker than the sample you measured.

When a small box rides inside a larger one, such as a card case inside a gift box, send both sizes. We can then cut the outer insert with a pocket for it, as is often done with our business card boxes with hinged lids.

Branding without shouting

Corporate boxes are often kept, so the branding should age well. A plain wrap in a brand colour with one foil or debossed logo usually beats full print across every face.

The inside of the lid or cover is where the message goes: a thank-you, a welcome or a launch date. Printing inside costs little next to the attention it gets.

Think about the colour of the board edge too. On a dark wrap, a grey core showing at the rim looks unfinished, so ask for the wrap to fold in over the edge.

A raised logo, soft touch coating or a spot UV pattern can all be added as options. Our page on finishes for wrapped rigid boxes shows how each looks up close.

Using a client's or partner's logo

Agencies often order boxes carrying a client's brand rather than their own. That is normal, but we need the artwork from someone with the right to use it.

Send the client's logo files and brand colours with the brief. If the client has a colour reference, include it, and we match the proof to it as closely as the wrap allows.

Co-branded boxes, with your logo on the base and a partner's on the lid, work well for events and sponsorships. Keep one logo clearly dominant so the box does not look crowded.

Agencies working for several clients can keep each brief separate. Every design gets its own quote and proof, so one client's approval never holds up another's order.

How do teams plan a send-out date?

Corporate orders are tied to a date: a launch, a conference, a client meeting, the end of a quarter. Work backwards from the day the boxes must reach the people receiving them.

Hold one day back for the unexpected: a late signature on a proof, a product held up by a supplier, or a change to the guest list.

Our article on planning a PR box send-out timeline walks through a full example.

  1. Fix the arrival date, then subtract your own packing and posting days.
  2. Request a written quote with sizes, quantity and that date.
  3. Check and approve the free design proof promptly, because production waits for your approval.
  4. Count 4–6 business days for the boxes to be made.
  5. Add 2–3 business days for our free tracked delivery to your office or fulfilment partner.

Posting corporate and PR boxes

Rigid board is tough, yet the paper wrap can scuff and corners can dent on the way. Every corporate or PR box going by post should travel inside a plain outer carton with some void fill.

Your order reaches your UK address made up, empty and packed in cartons. Your team or fulfilment partner then fills and sends each one.

If a fulfilment partner is sending the boxes, give them the box sizes early. They can then order outer cartons that fit, rather than reaching for whatever cartons are lying around.

Order a few spares. Late additions to a guest list and the odd damaged parcel are normal on any send-out.

Mistakes on corporate and PR orders

Most of these come from working fast against a fixed date. Each one is easy to avoid with a quick check before the proof is approved.

  • Sizing the box before the final products are confirmed.
  • Leaving no room for the letter, which ends up folded under the insert.
  • Ordering exactly the number of recipients with no spares.
  • Approving the proof late, which pushes production past the event.
  • Using a client's logo without written permission from the client.

How to start a corporate or PR order

Send what goes inside, a rough quantity, your logo and the date you need the boxes. If you do not yet know which box suits, describe the task and we suggest one.

We put every price in writing, and a designer prepares a free proof showing your logo in place. You can try a logo on a box first on our Design Your Box page.

Corporate and PR Boxes: questions

Which box in the corporate and PR range suits a client gift?

The corporate gift box. Its magnetic flap keeps the lid attached, so the box can be reopened and kept as storage.

What is the difference between a PR box and a corporate gift box?

A PR box opens from the side like a book and shows a printed message first. A corporate gift box has a front flap held by magnets.

Can a business card case fit inside a corporate gift box?

Yes. Give us both sizes and the gift box insert gets a pocket cut to hold the card case.

Can we put a client's logo on corporate boxes?

Yes, with the client's permission. We place the logo on a free proof for you to check.

Can corporate boxes be delivered to our fulfilment partner?

Yes. Delivery to their UK address is free and tracked in 2–3 business days. Tell us before you approve the quote if you need more than one drop.

How early should a conference gift order be placed?

Allow time for the quote and proof, then 4–6 business days to make the boxes and 2–3 for delivery, plus your own packing days.

Can each staff welcome box carry a different name?

Raise it when you ask for a price, and the written quote states what can be done at your quantity.

Do PR and corporate boxes come filled?

No. They reach you empty and assembled, and your own team adds the contents.

Which corporate box suits documents and a memory stick?

A book-style PR box with a die-cut card insert. An A4 version is about 305 x 220 x 40 mm inside.

Can agencies order for several clients at once?

Yes. Each design is quoted and proofed separately, and can be ordered together.
